Softball Pitching School
Softball Pitching School is a developmental program for youth through high school aged Softball Players.
There are classes for both beginner and advanced pitchers.
Your Coach is Grace Van Horn, Head Coach at Wells College, an excellent teacher, and a collegiate athlete with a storied career.
The Clinic Focuses on;
-Proper warm-up techniques
-The importance of spin for different pitches
-Proper pitching mechanics
-Hitting locations and spotting pitches
-Increasing pitch velocity
-Fielding your position
Coach Grace Van Horn
Wells College Head Coach
A celebrated pitcher of Union Springs High School, Van Horn was named was twice an All-State selection; three-time ESPN Softball Athlete of the Year; four-time Citizen Softball All-Star; the first softball student athlete in the district history to be offered a scholarship to play at the NCAA Division I level where she played for St. Bonaventure University and later NAIA Division II Oklahoma Baptist University.
Since graduating with a degree in Political Science and an MBA, Van Horn has pursued her passion for the sport of softball by coaching at several levels including pitching coach for Southern Cayuga High School and the U17 Red Wave Travel team who won the 2021 district championship.

The 2023 softball team is a member of the United East Conference and open up play on March 22nd against Medaille College.
